The Congress Centre in Mullingar is hosting its Holistic Day to mark the International Day of Yoga, as well as the Summer Solstice, tomorrow, Friday June 21.

On offer are free workshops on meditation, Tai Chi and Yoga and the schedule is: Meditation 10-11.30am; Tai-Chi 11.30am-1pm; Yoga and Chai Tea 2-3pm; and Yoga and Pranayama (breathing exercises) 3-4pm.

Complimentary tea and coffee are available and visitors can also see what other activities the centre offers and speak to one of the tutors, who will be on hand to answer questions.

Mullingar Congress Centre was established more than 20 years ago as a non-profit organisation whose heart is firmly in the community.

The highly qualified tutors offer QQI accredited courses from business administration through to training and development, and testimonies from trainees are consistent in suggesting that “the relaxed and relatable learning environment helped me achieve my goals”.

In addition to formal QQI courses, hobby courses of interest include Creative Writing, Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation, Adult Choir, Italian, Pilates, Crochet, Rinka Midlands (gymnastics for pre-schoolers), Junior Song and Dance Club and the most popular computer classes for beginners (which are free).

The centre also has conference rooms for hire (large and small) and services such as curriculum vitae and interview preparation, and the second-hand secondary school bookshop is open during the summer.

Everyone is welcome to drop in tomorrow, Friday June 21, to see how Mullingar Congress Centre can help you start a new adventure!

The centre is open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm; call 044 9345060; see http://www.mullingarcongress.ie/ and facebook.com/mullingarcongresscentre.
