New principal takes over at Mullingar Community College

Mullingar Community College has a new principal from the new term, as Emmett Kenny takes over from Seamus Mohan.

A long-serving teacher, Mr Kenny was previously acting deputy principal and assistant principal.

Mr Mohan served as principal for six years from 2019. Mr Kenny has been at Mullingar Community College since 1996, as a PE and English teacher.

Emmett is well-versed in all things Mullingar Community College; he knows each student by name and has dedicated himself to the school for nearly three decades.

Today, Friday, Mr Kenny and Mr Mohan welcomed the class of 2024/25 as they were collecting their Leaving Certificate results.

Mr Kenny highlighted how great the year was: “They are a fantastic group, as is the rest of the school. Even the graduation was a great night, so close-knit, and I wish them the best for the future.”
