Schools for Simon – The Big Challenge for TY students
Midlands Simon Community is inviting transition year students in Westmeath, Longford, Offaly and Laois to take part in Schools for Simon – The Big Challenge, running from September 1 to October 10.
The challenges offers students a fun and creative way to help those who are homeless in the region. Schools are encouraged to do their own fundraising activities, from sleep-outs and no-uniform days, to quizzes, walks, cycles,, social media challenges and other innovative ideas.
Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraising school in each county and to the overall midlands winners. Participants will directly support the work of Midlands Simon Community helping people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness rebuild their lives and move into permanent homes.
Michael O’Brien, fundraising officer at Midlands Simon Community, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to come together, have fun, and contribute to a cause that changes lives. We look forward to seeing the creativity and generosity of schools across the midlands.”
