Colm Kerr awarded fellowship by IPPVA
Photographer Colm Kerr, FIPPVA, FIPF, QEP, QEV, has been awarded a fellowship by the Irish Professional Photographers and Videographers Association (IPPVA), the highest honour bestowed by the association, recognising exceptional excellence, creativity, and contribution to the field of professional photography.
The fellowship distinction is reserved for individuals whose work demonstrates outstanding technical and artistic ability and a sustained commitment to advancing the craft. The only appointed fellowship in the organisation in the past seven years, Colm joins an elite group of creatives in Ireland who have achieved the recognition.
Colm’s fellowship panel, which was submitted for assessment by a panel of IPPVA Fellows and Masters on Saturday last, showcased a body of work marked by storytelling, technical mastery, and a distinctive artistic voice. Colm chose a study of London Architecture for his panel and built the entire panel in a monochrome medium.
“Receiving the IPPVA fellowship is an incredible honour,” said Colm. “It represents years of dedication to my craft and an ongoing passion for visual storytelling. I’m deeply grateful to the IPPVA and my peers for this recognition I love my work, in fact photography is also my hobby . I have just gone into my second term as chairperson of the Mullingar Camera Club .”
With a career spanning almost 20 years, Colm has become known for his innovative approach to commercial and architectural photography, earning both national and international acclaim.
His work has been featured in architectural magazines, Plan and A&D Architecture and Detail, hospitality magazines – Hotel and Restaurant Times, also Social and Personal, Image Magazine, national and local newspapers. He continues to push creative boundaries in every project he undertakes.
The IPPVA, established 75 years ago, is Ireland’s longest-standing professional association for photographers and videographers, committed to promoting the highest standards in professional imaging. Fellowship status is the pinnacle of professional recognition within the association.
