Joan and Mandy triumph at pickleball event in Cardiff

Pickleball

Pickleball is going strong Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings with BMB. Remember, new pickleball players are always welcome. You can join in any Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning from 10.30, on Saturday morning from 11; and Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm, in Multyfarnham Community Centre. Pickleball is also played in Rathowen on Thursday evenings. As you get to know the sport, you will enjoy the success of your counterparts who enter competitions in Ireland and abroad. BMB Active offer congratulations to Joan McKeon and Mandy Kerroum, who recently were triumphant representing Multyfarnham Pickleball in Cardiff.

Bus services

BMB Active welcome Transport for Ireland bus services to and from Multyfarnham Village from September 15, three times a day. It is official, Multyfarnham finally has a regular bus service. Each Monday to Sunday at 8.20am, 1pm, 5pm from the stop in front of Murtagh’s you can travel stress free back and forth to town. On the weekends, Friday, and Saturday, there is a late service into town at 5pm and 9.35pm. The stops in Mullingar are at the Station, Castle Street, The Hospital, and Ballyglass. Look for Timetable 816 for more information

This public transport service will prove to be a great advantage to our village. So many people who have loved ones in Portiuncula Nursing Home will be able to come in and out to visit. Older passengers will be able to use their Travel Passes and young children will travel for free. Socialising in town on a weekend will be delightful, without the worry of driving, parking and one can enjoy a beverage of their choice. This service will be of benefit to many BMB Active members and friends, hopefully.

Scarecrow Festival

Gaine Park Multyfarnham Sunday September 21, BMB Active will have a stall in Gaine Park for the Multyfarnham Country Markets Fair that this year features a Scarecrow Festival and competition. This imaginative event promises to be an impressive display of bespoke produce and baked goods. Homemade, homegrown, and homeward bound to your house is the goal. All stalls will be local. The idea is to ensure that goods do not take unnecessary journeys. This is your opportunity to support local country markets, to enjoy the entertainment of some Field Day activities and see the fun and creativity of the Scarecrows.
