Mullingar Art Room Culture Night exhibition opening
The Mullingar Art Room’s annual Culture Night exhibition lit up the Greville Arms Hotel last weekend, creating a lively and inspiring atmosphere that drew the biggest audience to date. From Friday’s opening through to Sunday evening, visitors streamed in to enjoy the impressive display, making it a true highlight of the cultural calendar.
The exhibition was officially opened by distinguished local artist Roy Lindsay, whose warm words and insights into his artistic journey set the tone for the weekend. His reflections on learning to approach and appreciate art resonated deeply with both artists and guests, adding a personal touch to the occasion.
This year’s exhibition offered an abundance of creativity, with works spanning oils, acrylics, watercolours, charcoal, and pencil. Each piece reflected the individuality of its creator, and together the collection presented a interesting spectrum of colour, style, individual technique and imagination. Many visitors left with treasured new artworks, while artists enjoyed the thrill of seeing their work so warmly received by an enthusiastic public.
Over the years, Mullingar Art Room has firmly established Culture Night as a signature event for the town’s arts community, drawing in regular supporters and new admirers alike. Next year promises another impressive celebration, so art lovers are encouraged to save the date.
With its rich mix of artistic expression and community spirit, the weekend was a wonderful reminder of the power of art to connect people. For all who attended, it was an uplifting experience filled with inspiration, appreciation, and the shared joy of the arts.
