Discover wellness at Streete Parish Park Holistic Fair
The hall at Streete Parish Park Community Centre will transform into a sanctuary of wellness and holistic exploration this coming Sunday, October 5 (2-5pm).
The inaugural Streete Parish Park Holistic Fair promises an enriching experience, gathering 26 local vendors, practitioners, and teachers dedicated to elevating the body, mind, and spirit.
In a world inundated with stress and demands, this event emphasises a down-to-earth approach to wellness. As the slogan suggests, it’s about moving from ‘woo-woo’ to ‘woo-hoo,’ ensuring that attendees feel grounded and welcomed in the holistic community.
Many of the participants are local residents who thrive in their wellness practices, making the fair a not-to-miss opportunity to discover what the area has to offer. Participants can look forward to a diverse range of activities, encompassing everything from yoga sessions to tarot card readings.
The fair will showcase various treatments including reflexology and reiki, alongside an array of products such as crystals, lotions, and soothing balms. Whether you’re a seasoned wellness enthusiast or just curious to explore, this event invites everyone to dip their toes in to unfamiliar yet fascinating practices.
The fair is organised by community volunteer Denise Tighe. She said: “Kevin Brady, known for his creative ideas, approached me to coordinate this fair, and I brought along a friend to assist.”
While some might feel hesitant about exploring holistic wellness, Denise points out that most vendors are familiar faces from the area, lending a sense of comfort and trust.
In addition to browsing vendor stalls and participating in mini-treatments, attendees will have the chance to join a 20-minute yoga session. Yoga mats will be provided, although participants are encouraged to bring their own, especially if a large number of guests attend.
There is free admission and parking, and refreshments in the heated hall add to the experience.
This year, the fair adds to the list of community events such as the Irish Tea Party on October 11 and the Christmas market on November 30.
