Mullingar RFC enjoy double win over Clondalkin

Mullingar RFC enjoyed a superb weekend at Shay Murtagh Park with both senior men’s sides claiming victories over visitors Clondalkin.

The First XV produced a dominant display to run out 66–9 winners, with Niall Hannon crossing for a hat trick. A strong blend of emerging young talent and experienced campaigners proved too much for the opposition in what was an excellent all-round team performance.

The Second XV also recorded their first victory of the season, edging a tight contest 29–21. Mullingar showed real grit and composure in a game that went down to the final minutes.

Club President Ciaran Murtagh praised the efforts of both sides: “It was a fantastic day for the club. The Firsts put in an outstanding performance, and the Seconds showed huge determination to get over the line in a close game.

“There’s a real buzz around Mullingar Rugby at the moment, and hopefully we can carry this momentum through the season.”

Mullingar RFC will now look ahead with confidence as their Leinster League campaign gathers pace.
