Schools camogie teams honour memory of Liz Shaw

The sun shone brightly in the sky above Joristown Park in Raharney as Camogie teams from schools in the locality gathered together to remember a special lady, Liz Shaw, by doing one of the things she loved to do best. The Annual Liz Cahill Memorial Tournament hosted by St Joseph’s Rochfortbridge in Joristown Park Raharney took place on 25 September and 13 local secondary schools were in attendance on the day, and enjoyed each others company on a beautiful autumn day.

Senior camogie players in St Joseph’s Secondary School assisted Nicki Cunneen and Muireann Scally (teachers in St Joseph's) in organising a great day of fun and camogie that everyone enjoyed. On the day, there was a display of all the characteristics that Liz had in abundance; sporting prowess, determination, camaraderie and fun.

Killina Presentation Secondary School took the honours in the Division 1 competition, while Moate Community School won the division 2 competition.
