Crombie teams up with NSPCA for calendar

Rahugh photographer James Crombie, famous for that photo of starlings over Lough Ennell, has teamed up with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) to create the Irish Happy Tails Calendar 2026 – a celebration of animals rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed through the its nationwide shelters.

Named Irish Press Photographer of the Year 2025, James here turns his lens toward the stories of hope and resilience behind each animal, capturing their characters and their second chances with striking beauty.

Featuring 12 uplifting stories, the Irish Happy Tails Calendar 2026 showcases the power of compassion, community, and the work of NSPCA volunteers and supporters.

The NSPCA was formed through the merger of two the DSPCA and ISPCA. In addition to the calendar, the NSPCA’s Christmas Card Collection offers a thoughtful way to share festive cheer while supporting animal welfare.

The National SPCA Irish Happy Tails Calendar 2026 (€12.99) and Christmas Card Collection (€9.99) are available now in Eason stores nationwide, at the NSPCA campus in Rathfarnham, and online at nspcashop.com.
