IHF calls on people of Westmeath to take part in Never Forgotten Night Walk

The Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF) in partnership with event sponsor Londis have launched their ‘Never Forgotten Night Walk 2025’.

The IHF are calling on people in Westmeath to get involved in ‘Never Forgotten Night Walk’ and come together in a powerful act of remembrance and support for all who are grieving.

The walk will take place nationwide on Friday November 28, at 5pm - for locations and registration see here.

Participants can walk, jog, or run 5km in memory of loved ones lost and in support of all those who are bereaved. The evening offers an opportunity for people across Ireland to honour those they have lost, while raising funds for IHF services.

Funds raised through the ‘Never Forgotten Night Walk’ support Irish Hospice Foundation's programmes, including Nurses for Night Care and the Bereavement Support Line, helping to ensure that everyone facing dying, death, and bereavement in Ireland receives compassionate care and support when they need it most.

In Ireland it is estimated that 100 people die every day and that 10 people, adults and children, are bereaved through each death. IHF services provide support to individuals and families navigating loss and grief across communities throughout the country.

Londis retailers have supported the IHF mission as official charity partner since 2023, raising €170,609.63 in that time through various initiatives, as well as donations on selected Londis Own Brand products.

Paula O’Reilly, CEO of Irish Hospice Foundation, said: “Our Never Forgotten Night Walk is a beautiful opportunity for communities across Ireland to come together in remembrance of those we have loved and lost.

"Every step taken on November 28 will help us continue our vital work supporting people through some of life's most difficult moments. We are grateful for everyone who will join us in making this evening of remembrance truly special.”

Londis sales director, Conor Hayes, added: “We are honoured to be part of Irish Hospice Foundation Never Forgotten Night Walk 2025. Loss touches every community across Ireland, and this walk is a heartfelt way to remember those we’ve lost, while supporting those who are grieving.

“As local retailers, Londis stores are rooted in the communities they serve, just like Irish Hospice Foundation, which provides care and comfort to families during life’s most difficult moments.

"We’re proud to stand with them in this initiative. I encourage everyone, whether you walk, jog, or run, to join us on November 28. Together, we can make a real difference and honour the memory of our loved ones in a way that brings hope and healing to others.”
