Planning application for Mullingar CVRT centre

Westmeath County Council planners are to assess an application for a Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Testing Centre (CVRT) in Mullingar.

Mullingar CVRT Centre Ltd has made the application for the construction of a new CVRT Centre at Site 39, Lough Sheever Corporate Park. The building will consist of a 600m2 ground floor area with two testing lanes, reception, offices, waiting areas and toilets. The first floor area will have waiting areas, toilets, offices and storage.

The planing application covers landscaping, covered bicycle shelter and all associated site works including car parking with one EV charging space, two bus EV charging points and one accessible EV charging space.

The works include alterations of existing site entrance, the enlargement of existing automatic gate system, a new pedestrian gate and new seven-metre wide exit only gate to existing estate road.

The planning office received the application last week and have indicated a decision by January 7, 2026.
