Remedial works planned for Ballyharney Road, Multyfarnham

The Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad has confirmed that normal maintenance will be carried out on the L58213 Ballyharney Road in Multyfarnham over the next four weeks, with resurfacing considered in the 2026 estimates for sections in particularly poor repair.

The issue was raised with officials by Cllr Emily Wallace, who said the lane is in a very poor state of repair, right down to the last house.

District Engineer Pat Kavanagh clarified that “it just depends how bad it is. If it’s reasonable, basic maintenance can be carried out.

If not, it would have to go into the estimates for proper resurfacing,” ensuring that the worst-affected section will be prioritised in future works.
