Christmas season officially open in Tyrrellspass
Tyrrellspass Tidy Towns welcomed Santa with his horse and carriage to officially turn on the Christmas lights on the village Green yesterday evening. Santa was greeted by a huge crowd of excited children and parents.
After the official countdown, everyone was treated to carols sung by pupils from St Anne’s NS accompanied by Ms Brunton and Ms McKeown, mince pies, hot drinks and fun under the snow machine.
The new galvanised tree was made locally by Bradley Engineering and the funds were raised by the successful Halloween Fancy Dress Night in Gonoud’s Bar.
A huge debt of gratitude to Trevor Gonoud and his army of volunteers, and to the Tidy Towns committee who worked hard to make sure everyone enjoyed the event.
