Festive fun for everyone as Santa visits Pearse Street

Whelehans Pharmacy, Pearse Street, brought the true spirit of Christmas to Mullingar on Friday, as the store hosted its much-loved Customer Appreciation Evening, an event that arrived, as promised, with “a jingle bell BANG”.

Families streamed in from the moment the event started, enjoying an evening filled with festive fun, community warmth, and joyful surprises.

The biggest highlight was Santa Claus himself. Taking time out of his busy North Pole schedule, Santa greeted excited children who lined up eagerly for a chance to meet him.

Every child received a guaranteed gift and digital photo, and even a few furry four-legged visitors had their moment with Santa, delighting the crowd.

Laura the Elf kept spirits high, helping Santa throughout the evening and ensuring every child felt welcomed.

Whelehans staff member, Dominique Mathews, who coordinated the event, made sure everything ran smoothly and that each family enjoyed a personal and festive experience.

Staff across the pharmacy joined in as honorary elves, adding sparkle, humour, and plenty of craic to the evening.

Customers enjoyed generous Christmas gift discounts, free children’s face painting, music, fun competitions, and a selection of freebies.

The atmosphere was buzzing with laughter, conversation, and the unmistakable joy of the season as customers and staff celebrated together.

The beautifully decorated Santa set, complete with Christmas trees, a throne, and a cosy festive backdrop, created photo opportunities that families will treasure.

Whelehans extended thanks to the Greville Arms Hotel for support in making the event such a success. The heart-warming turnout reflected the strong community connection the pharmacy continues to nurture.

As the Whelehans team shared online afterwards, the appreciation evening was a celebration of community, kindness, and Christmas spirit.

With fun had by all, great value delivered throughout, and Santa himself on hand, the festive season truly began with magic on Pearse Street.
