Westmeath Branch of Birdwatch Ireland host final meeting of 2025
Birdwatch Ireland’s Westmeath Branch are hosting their final Birdwatch meeting of 2025, on Tuesday December 9 at 8pm.
The guest speaker on the night will be Conor O’Brien, who is the author of ‘The Living and the Dead’ and ‘Ireland through Birds’. Conor will be signing and selling copies of his books on the night.
Tina Kellegher, branch member, said: “This promises to be a lovely event and it really is a perfect opportunity to pick up a really nice Christmas gift!”
The event will take place at Áras an Mhuilinn on Mount Street and will mark the end of what has been a busy year for the group.
The year that included many different celebrations including World Wetlands Day, The Dawn Chorus event, and the Lough Ennell Catchment Plan.
The Westmeath branch is a shining example of resilience, as they were only revived in 2023, and they have worked hard since then to get their numbers back up.
Since then, they meet at Áras an Mhuilinn on the second Tuesday of every month to discuss all things birdwatching.
