Mullingar family keep up the tradition as lights shine bright

The McDonnell family Christmas lights tradition continues.

It's one of the sure signs that Christmas is on the way when the McDonnell family deck the halls with an abundance of lights.

For over a decade and a half the family have kept up the tradition, even when disrupted by house moves. The locations may have changed, but their commitment to having one of the most impressively lit-up homes in the country has never dimmed.

The Westmeath Examiner paid a visit to their home at Assumption Villas on the Delvin Road, where every available space – the house, its roof, the garden, and front walls – is adorned with Christmas lights.
