Aoife Davitt becomes first female cathaoirleach of St Loman's, Mullingar
Aoife Davitt has been appointed chairperson of St Loman’s GAA Club, Mullingar, becoming the first woman to hold the role in the club’s history. It marks a significant milestone for the club and its wider community.
Aoife, who also serves as a local county councillor, follows in the footsteps of her father, Liam Davitt, and her brother, Aidan Davitt, both of whom made longstanding and influential contributions to St Loman’s Mullingar. Aidan was chairman of the club for a number of years.
Paul Devine has been elected St Loman's GAA secretary, continuing a proud family association with the club, while Andrew McKenna remains in place as treasurer, offering continuity and experience as St Loman’s, Mullingar looks ahead to the coming year.
The club extended its thanks to outgoing chairman Pat McCartan and outgoing secretary Seamus Tunney, acknowledging their dedication, leadership and hard work throughout their terms.
In a message on its facebook page, the club said: "St Loman’s, Mullingar wishes Aoife, Paul and Andrew every success as they take on their respective roles, guiding the club into its next chapter."
