Man (30s) arrested after five cars set on fire in Dublin

A man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested by gardaí investigating five cars being set on fire in Dublin.
Gardaí attached to Kevin Street Garda Station are investigating all the circumstances in relation to a number of incidents of criminal damage by fire to vehicles that took place in the Dublin 8 area during the early hours of Thursday.
At approximately 4.45am on Thursday morning, gardaí responded to reports of three cars on fire outside residences on the South Circular Road.
While attending the scene, members were notified of another car on fire on St Anne's Road, approximately 100 metres away, and requested the services of Dublin Fire Brigade to assist. Damage was caused to an additional fifth car parked adjacent to this vehicle.
No injuries were reported, gardaí said.
Investigating members have arrested a man, aged in his 30s, in connection with this incident. The man is currently detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR).
