Mullingar Carers Concert returns with top class lineup

The Mullingar Carers Concert “inspired By Billy Mac” returns this year to the Greville Arms Hotel on Tuesday March 31, and as always it features a line-up of top class talent.

Camillus Egerton and Chris Loughrey took the reins from Billy Mac for last year’s event, and are leading the organising again this year.

They will be performing themselves, alongside John Corroon as MC and the Tennessee Breakdown Band providing the music.

Also, on stage will be: Robert Mizzell, Mick Foster and Moyra Fraser, TR Dallas, Camillus Egerton and Heads Up, Chris Loughrey, Ciarán Rosney, Matt Leavy, Sabrina Fallon, The Rosney Family, Joe Cooney and Michaela Hogg.

Camillus reports that Billy Mac is in good spirits and, “if he’s up to it, he’ll sing a song or two”.

The two singers are delighted with how last year’s concert went (it drew a crowd of around 450, and there were many more ticket sales to people who supported the cause but didn’t attend), and, “we’re hoping to keep building on it every year”, said Chris.

“It’s good value at €20 ticket – we could look for more, but we’re not, we’re going to keep it at that," Camillus added.

“Our aim is to try to improve every year with it, if we can, and I’m sure we will. We work with the artists we get and are available to us on the night, and we are grateful for all of those who are coming this year, and those who have performed over the years since the first one.”

Tickets (€20) are available through the Greville Arms Hotel or Family Carers Ireland, whose offices are on at First Floor, Harbour House, Harbour Street, Mullingar, 044 934 7922.

Also, contact Chris Loughrey on social media and at 087 252 5379, or Camillus Egerton at 086 815 7260.

Doors open at 7.15pm and the show starts at 7.45pm on Tuesday March 31.
