Dovida promise 'to find hours for you' if you want to be a caregiver

Dovida "will try to find hours for you" if you are interested in joining their team as a caregiver, says Rory Fagan from their marketing team.

Rory was a host at an information session in the Annebrook House Hotel last week, where he explained to the Westmeath Examiner what they were hoping to get out of the event.

"Dovida is Ireland’s leading home care provider," said Rory. "We’re sharing information about what we do for home care services, caregiver vacancies, and also doing walk-in interviews.

"Home care is something people don’t know about until they’re going to have to know about it," he added, "so we’re just spreading the word about what services we provide and, as I said, the caregiver vacancies and everything."

Rory discussed the traits that were most desirable in a candidate. "Whether they have previous experience or not – obviously that helps – but people with a caring, naturally kind side to them, we’ll be looking to talk to those kinds of people.

"If it’s a change of career or something new, or if you’ve done it in the past or even if it’s full-time, part-time, or weekend work, we will try and find hours for you.

"There are clients all around the community who might need someone full-time or maybe they just need something in the evening, so we’ll be happy to talk to anyone who might be interested in caregiving."

Rory and colleagues were pleased with the response they received on the day, and Liam Moran from Dovida said: "We’ve had a few caregivers come in, just about general and kind of difficulties they’re having or any kind of queries.

"We had some walk-in interviews as well, which is always great – that the word is getting out there."

"They were promising [candidates] and seemed to have a huge interest in caring, so we’re happy overall."

"There was a good buzz, people seemed very happy about the fact that we had a focus group here.

"I think it’s great to put a face to a name as well, because we’re in the office a lot of times, and we don’t get to see the caregivers as much as we’d like to."
