Usher auction includes Eric Clapton’s Journeyman tour jacket

Usher Auctions open the year with a timed antique and collectible sale, including two large Meath house clearances.

There are more than 1200 lots included in the sale, including Georgian and Victorian furniture, fine wines, a collection of silver, desks, mirrors, bookcases, quality carpets and rugs, collectible coins, advertising, a large collection of watches, a good selection of garden furniture, fishing gear, and horse tack and saddlery.

As always, there is a great selection of antiquarian books including, An Irish Florilegium by Wendy Walsh, several Stanislaus Lynch titles, signed 1st edition Snaffles, old ledgers, scrapbooks and other collectable titles. Pictures and Artwork include Cecil Aldin prints, Robert Ballagh lithograph, Ryman sporting prints, Thomas Ryan, framed watercolours and maps.

For music fans, there are vinyl records, including U2, Talking Heads, The Velvet Underground, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Grace Jones and many more. There is a selection of rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia including Eric Clapton’s Journeyman 1990 Tour Jacket, a Chris de Burgh gold record, and a pair of Barbra Streisand’s gold shoes.

Viewing at The Auction Rooms at John Street, Kells (A82 E022) is recommended, and bidding is now open; auction times are Monday January 26 from 6pm.
