Coralstown NS pupils follow magic carpet to arts centre
Coralstown National School reached a milestone on the evening of Thursday 15 January when pupils staged ‘Aladdin’ in their school’s first production at Mullingar Arts Centre.
It was a memorable night and a proud moment for the school community, as families and friends came together to support the pupils and celebrate the arts.
From the moment the curtain rose, the excitement in the auditorium was clear to see, and the cast and crew delivered a fantastic performance, and the hard work put in over weeks of rehearsals shone through.
It was a first time performing on a professional stage for many pupils, and they rose to the occasion with confidence, talent and impressive teamwork.
There was a strong turnout on the night, and families, friends and members of the local community filled the arts centre to cheer on the students.
The atmosphere was warm and supportive throughout, making it a night that will be remembered for a long time.
A special word of thanks is due to the teachers and staff who guided, encouraged and supported the students at every step.
Appreciation was also expressed to Seán Lynch and the team at Mullingar Arts Centre for their professionalism and for helping to make the school’s first production such a positive experience.
The school’s parents association held a raffle on the night to support future school activities and productions; thanks were extended to everyone who bought tickets and contributed, and congratulations to the prize winners.
The first prize was a €100 voucher for the newly opened Mary Lynch’s, and there were also vouchers for Mullingar Pewter Café and Domino’s.
Speaking after the show, school principal Michael Ward said: “This was a hugely proud night for Coralstown National School.
Our children showed incredible courage and commitment, and it was heart-warming to see the community come together in such a positive way.
‘Aladdin’ will be remembered as a real milestone for our school.”
Mr Ward and his staff colleagues added a well done to every student who took part, whether on stage, backstage, or helping behind the scenes.
The production marked a new chapter for Coralstown National School, showcasing
creativity, courage and strong community spirit.
