Students from three Westmeath schools were among the undergraduate students recognised by Dublin City University for their academic achievement in last year’s Leaving Certificate at the DCU Scholars Awards.
The three are Emily Skinder, St Finian’s College, and Seán Corroon, Coláiste Mhuire, both Mullingar; and Niall Hagan, Moate Community School. They achieved more than 600 points in the Leaving Certificate exams.
Speaking at the ceremony, DCU president, Professor Dáire Keogh told the awardees he was proud that these exceptional students had chosen to study at DCU. “They represent the talent of their generation and the future of our country,” he said. “They will relish the academic challenges and opportunities of University life and we will support them to achieve their dreams.”
