Free workshop on Biodiversity and Sustainability categories for Tidy Towns and SECs

The Midlands Training Links Network will host a free workshop for Tidy Towns groups and sustainable energy communities (SECs) focused on the Tidy Towns application and what adjudicators consider in the Biodiversity and Sustainability categories, on Saturday 7 March (9.45am-1pm) in Castlepollard Library, (N91 T183).

Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences and get advice on sustainability and biodiversity projects, developing long-term plans, and preparing Tidy Towns applications.

The workshop will be delivered by Sharon Eastwood, an environmental consultant, who has been an independent adjudicator for the national Tidy Towns competition for 17 years, advancing sustainability and biodiversity themes in particular. She has delivered many workshops and spoken at various conferences about the competition and its evolution in recent years to advance national policy.

In 2024, Sharon spoke at Ireland’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Stakeholders Forum on how the competition is working on transformative approaches to the SDGs.

SEAI community mentors will also provide advice on grant aid supports for sustainability projects and examples of recent projects funded by the Community Climate Action Fund.

The Workshop is free of charge, but registration is required before 27 February at: https://forms.microsoft.com/r/LKDKY7aP6N.

Details are included in the flyer below. For further information, call 086 8439555.
