Midlands region had lowest levels of disposable income in 2024, CSO reports
New figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show the Midlands, including Offaly, Westmeath, Laois, and Longford, had the lowest disposable income in Ireland in 2024.
The figures, released on Wednesday, February 4, were part of a report of the County Incomes and GDP 2024.
The region’s total income was €8.8 billion, 14.5% below the national average per person.
Longford had the lowest income per person (€23,725), followed by Roscommon (€24,685), which was 18.1% below the State average and down 2.9% from 2023.
