Mullingar Bus Service to commence on February 22

The Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad has said the new Mullingar Bus Service is expected to commence on February 22.

At the monthly meeting today, Monday, Cllr Mick Dollard submitted the query: 'Can the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad advise was to when it is envisaged that the Mullingar Bus Service would be commenced?'.

He received the above response to his query.

On a related subject, Cllr David Jones asked: 'Can the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad provide an update on the provision of a bus shelter for Castlepollard?'.

He received this response: 'The Active Travel Section has advised that it is anticipated that more bus shelters will become available in Q3 this year and this location can be considered, subject to National Transport Authority requirements, the district list of funding priorities and the agreement of local stakeholders.

'The district will continue to install bus stops throughout the district. (A list of bus stops was to be circulated at the meeting.)
