‘Find Calm in the Chaos’ – Soroptimist celebration for International Women’s Day

Soroptimist Mullingar and District are celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) on Thursday 5 March in the Annebrook House Hotel, Mullingar. Doors will open at 7pm with a welcome reception and networking as guests enter a new to you/reuse retail shopping village. There, many of the boutiques in Mullingar who are focused on this market will be offering the opportunity to browse and shop.

Keeping in the theme of Find Calm in the Chaos in this busy modern world, there is also the opportunity to visit a Wellness Hub where there will be a wealth of information and introduction to new experiences like sound baths.

Then visitors can relax and sit back to hear from two experienced professionals in the areas of stress and menopause. Dr Niamh Clarke, HSE principal psychologist, will explore how we can balance stress in our busy lives; and Dr Dionne De Gouveila, general practitioner, Bellview Clinic, with special interest in women’s health and menopause, will focus on the management of menopause with or without HRT.

The evening will conclude with a coach discussion with some more professional women from Mullingar who will share their life experiences and tip.

Admission to the event is free, but, as places are limited, intending guests will have to book their places; contact soroptimistmullingar@gmail.com.

International Women’s Day (IWD), marked annually on March 8, is for celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality. Worldwide groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality.
