Agri firms to merge

A Mullingar accountancy firm focused on the agriculture sector has been acquired by a larger accountancy firm which already has offices in Westmeath, and which specialises in providing services to the farming, food and agribusiness community. Peter Moore and Co, of Patrick Street has been taken over by IFAC, also based in Patrick Street.

“Peter Moore and Company has been a longstanding fixture in the local business community, with a reputation for its expertise in the farming sector and strong, enduring relationships with clients throughout Westmeath and neighbouring counties,” said an IFAC spokesperson.

The practice will now integrate with the IFAC Mullingar office, a move that is expected to broaden the range and depth of services available to clients in the county and across the wider Midlands region.

Founded more than 50 years ago, IFAC has more than 30 locations and a team of approximately 600 professionals. The firm said the acquisition forms part of a growth strategy aimed at expanding its regional footprint while maintaining a strong local presence. “By combining local knowledge and long-established client relationships with IFAC’s technical expertise and resources, the merger is intended to deliver enhanced advisory capacity and support for businesses operating in agriculture and the SME sector.

“Peter Moore and Company has built a respected practice with a strong specialism in the farming sector. That sectoral knowledge and commitment to client service makes them an excellent fit for IFAC.”
