Finbar Coady’s new Leonard Cohen Show raises €1,100 for LARCC
Last Friday week a group of music lovers assembled in the Gingerbread Café in Mullingar for a special evening of entertainment.
For the last 12 months, musician and entertainer Finbar Coady has worked diligently on his new show called ‘Under the Influence of Leonard Cohen’, an in keeping with the spirit of the late, great artist’s life’s work in poetry and music, Coady decided it would be fitting to dedicate all proceeds from his launch concert to LARCC’S cancer support Sanctuary.
With the generous support of Niamh Heneghan of the Gingerbread Café and her team, all concert-goers were served up delicious tapas and Spanish wine, sponsored by Wines Direct.
There was a lively buzz of community spirit in the Café as Coady took to his stage and played a superb set of 22 of Leonard Cohen’s most loved hits, such as Suzanne, Chelsea Hotel and Dance me to the end of Love.
At the end of his two-hour set, Coady had his crowd in jubilant mood as they stood to sing along with him for the beloved Cohen song Hallelujah.
He was delighted to receive a standing ovation from his fans and is looking forward to taking his new show to a wider audience in the year ahead.
