The price of diesel has risen €1.71 → €2.09 and the price of petrol €1.72 → €1.91 since January, according to data aggregated by FuelWatch.ie.
FuelWatch.ie aggregated publicly available fuel price data from four independent community-based platforms operating in Ireland: PickaPump (pickapump.com), pumps.ie, FuelCompare.ie, and FuelWatch community reports.
Each platform relies on voluntary price submissions from members of the public.
Daily national averages are calculated from all available dated price readings on each day. Coverage spans 72 of 77 days between 1 January and 19 March 2026, with 4,456 total dated readings across 1,747 mapped stations in all 26 counties of the Republic of Ireland.
This is indicative community-sourced data. Ireland currently has no mandatory fuel price reporting scheme and no official government price database.
The monthly breakdown shows average prices of €1.741 for petrol, and €1.717 for diesel in January.
In February, average prices were €1.749 (petrol) and €1.742 (diesel).
In March (till the 19th), the average prices were €1.806 (petrol) and €1.886 (diesel).
