St Vincent's hurlers enjoy positive start to new season

A presentation of new club gear to under 10s, 12s, 14s, 16s and minor players with St Vincent’s took place at Ringtown Hurling Club on Monday, March 9.

St Vincent's is an amalgamation of Crookedwood and Ringtown, which has been making a good impact in recent years, providing hurling for players from both clubs.

Frank Gorman, St Vincent's chairman, thanked everyone for their support and said they have made a positive start to the season.

“We'd like to thank on behalf of the St Vincent's committee, our sponsors, Val Brennan (Brennan's Groundwork), William Murphy and Enda Cahill Innovate. We'd also like to thank a special mention to Suzanne McEvoy for all her hard work in sourcing the gear, the sponsors and everything like that. She's been absolutely brilliant. She's a heartbeat at the club,” he said.

“We'd also like to thank the parents for bringing all the kids here. Training is back a couple of weeks now and attendance is very, very good.”

The chairman said both clubs have embraced the amalgamation.

“We'd like to thank both executives from both Ringtown and Crookedwood. The amalgamation has run very successfully and we're very lucky to have two strong executives behind the club,” he remarked.

“We want to wish all our teams the very best of luck for the coming year and we'd also like best wishes to all our lads in the county development squads,” the chairman added.
