Fagan runs European standard in Dunboyne
Claire Fagan travelled to Dunboyne on Sunday to compete in the 55th edition of the Dunboyne AC Road Race.
Claire set out at a fast pace covering the first mile in 5m 13. As she settled in to the race, she was able to hold a steady pace, clicking off each of the next five miles at an average of 5m 25.
In the final stages of the race, Claire surged for the finish line, running 76 seconds for the last 400 metres.
Claire’s finishing time of 33:35 is a big improvement on the 34:06 time she posted on the same course in 2025.
The time is also inside the qualifying standard of 33:48 for the European 10,000m Cup, which takes place on 23 May in La Speezia, Italy.
