Passenger numbers on Mullingar Town Bus Services at 5,000 per week

“Passenger numbers on the Mullingar Town Bus Services are currently running at more than 5,000 per week after three weeks operation.” The figure is from the National Transport Authority in response to a query from the Westmeath Examiner, and was issued on Thursday last.

A second query asked if there are plans to expand the service, given that there are new bus stops on the Delvin Road.

The response is: “There are no current plans to expand the Mullingar Town Bus Service. Please note, however, that from 15 March 2026, the new bus stops in question on the Delvin Road at St Loman’s GAA and St Loman’s Hospital are now served by Bus Éireann route 167 Mullingar to Dundalk, with five services a day in each direction Monday to Sunday.”
