Incubation units approved for Technology Innovation Centre

Westmeath County Council have approved plans for additional industrial units at Mullingar Enterprise, Technology and Innovation Centre. The business support hub in Clonmore, Mullingar, which opened in 2009 to foster local job creation and enterprise growth, has been approved by the local authority planning office to build four light industrial units.

The enterprise units, located at Zone C, Mullingar Business Park, will focus on start-up and incubation business in the food industry. The plans included single-storey maintenance and staff canteen units, new signage, and a new covered EV charging carport.

To facilitate the units, it is proposed that an adjustment to the existing site entrance gate will provide a new pedestrian entrance gate, an extension to existing internal access road with new car parking layout, as well as loading areas and bicycle parking.

The plans to go before council planners cover all associated hard and soft landscaping, public lighting, connections to existing services. Mullingar Enterprise, Technology and Innovation Centre CLG hope to carry out all associated ancillary site works above and below ground.

The plans were lodged with the local authority at the end of January, and planners granted approval subject to 14 conditions. The conditions attached include adherence to the submitted plans, landscaping, an undertaking not to increase noise levels at the site, water and wastewater treatment, and contritions attached to the maintenance of roads at the Business Park.
