Fiosrú (police ombudsman) investigating death of man in Mulllingar town centre

Fiosrú, the Office of the Police Ombudsman, is independently investigating the sudden death of a 34-year-old man on Saturday, 28 March, in Mullingar.

The referral was made by a Garda Superintendent under section 203(1) of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024.

Fiosrú is appealing to any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Fiosrú would like to hear from anyone who was on the Main Street, Mullingar, at approximately 10-11am on Saturday 28 March.

They would also like to receive dashcam footage from passing vehicles from that location and/or mobile device footage from anyone who may have witnessed the man and his interaction with gardaí.
