Approval for extension of Clonmellon housing plan
Westmeath County Council planners have granted an application to the extension of time to complete a significant development in Clonmellon. The planning application is now extended for a period of three years up to December 2029. Paddy Powderly made the application to extend the duration of the planning application approved for the Clonmellon development.
The planning file indicates that the project was designed by Louis Peppard, of LMP Architects, Lilliput Lough Ennell, Mullingar.
The application for the extension of permission relates to the demolition of the existing public house and petrol station and the creation of a mixed use town centre development.
That will comprise a three-storey block of five apartments and a commercial unit.
It will also have six three-storey three-bedroom terraced town houses, a block of five two-storey two-bedroom terraced town houses.
The plans include private and shared open space consisting of landscaped inner courtyard as residential amenity space, and two two-storey three-bedroom semi-detached units previously granted on the site.
It covers a detached single storey block with an adaptable community/preschool infant and child-minding facility.
The site will have a one-way street to the north and west boundaries with shared vehicular/cycle pedestrian access, private linear street parking to serve residents of the proposed development.
Other features include new public street enhancement with street parking bays, new footpaths and pedestrian crossing link to the main street, seating, new tree planting and public lighting.
There will be an ancillary shelter structure to accommodate waste collection and recycling, bicycle storage and maintenance equipment storage to serve the management of the proposed residential amenities and services.
Connection to existing water, waste and surface water main drainage on the site.
