Projekt Noir take ‘The Noise Club' as theme for next gig
The theme for the next Projekt Noir night of live music and DJs is ‘The Noise Club’, “as the gigs are noisy, turbulent, and wild, the same as the music we love”, say the organisers.
It’s on Saturday April 18 in The Stables, Smiddy’s Bar, and on offer is a selection of songs from the 1960s to the 2020s. Seven bands and DJs will perform alternative tunes of rock, pop, punk, post-punk, electro, indie, darkwave, gothic, noise, experimental and alternative music.
The songs performed will be dark and light, liberating and uplifting, insightful, high and low, say organisers Noel Fennessey, Kevin Kelly and Marie Forde. “Join us on the night and we will transition from the mundane to the chaotic and inspirational.”
The DJs will play tunes from a wide selection of powerful bands and influential artists, that are profound, deep, energetic, and compulsive. The music on the night will be mixed and diverse, distinctive, different, contradictory and harmonious, off centre, and filled with sadness and joy.
So if you want to hear something new, go to the Stables on Saturday 18 April.
There is no charge at the door and everyone is welcome.
Expect to hear the following on the night, and much: David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode, OMD, The Psychedelic Furs, The Smiths, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, The Clash, The Human League, The Ramones, Jonah Lewie, Spear of Destiny, New Order, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Talking Heads, Joy Division, Kraftwerk, The Strokes, Billy Idol, Fontaines DC and more. If you don’t hear a song live, our DJs will play a wide selection of music including Kings of Leon, , Simple Minds, U2, The Doors, The Damned, Nine Inch Nails, Fugazi, Nirvana, Gary Numan, The Cure, Arctic Monkeys, T-Rex, Teddybears.
