The death has occurred of

Brigid Higgins

No 1 O'Connell Terrace, Mullingar, Westmeath / Longford. Peacefully, at her home surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness. Predeceased by her parents Kathleen and Jack, her sisters Joan and Rene and her brother Peter. Sadly missed by her loving husband Peter, her daughters Caitriona (Castlepollard), Brigid (Mullingar) and Melissa (Ardagh), her sons Padraig (Scotland), Peter and John (Mullingar), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Luie, Veronica, Patricia and Mary, her brothers Dan and Fr. Seamus Whelan S.C.A. (Argentina), nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Rest in peace.

Reposing in Shaws Funeral Home, Bishop's Gate Street, Mullingar, on Tuesday, April 21, from 6pm with Prayers at 7pm. Removal on Wednesday, April 22, from her daughter Melissa's home in Lyanmore to St Brigid's Church, Ardagh, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of

Thomas Harvey

Dungay, Ballymore, Westmeath. It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Thomas. Deeply loved and sadly missed by his heartbroken and devoted parents, Pat and Breda, adored daughter Shannon, treasured sisters Jennifer and Patricia, dear brother-in-law Devin, cherished nieces Aoibha and Orla (goddaughter).

Thomas will be always lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, many loyal friends and wonderful neighbours.

May Thomas Rest in Peace. Reposing at Flynn’s Funeral Home, Moate this Wednesday, April 22, from 5pm until 7pm. Removal on Thursday, April 23, to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Ballymore arriving for 11am Funeral Mass. Cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan at 3pm.

The death has occurred of

Margaret Sheeran (née Hurley)

Clonickilvant, Killucan, Westmeath and formerly Rochfortbridge, Westmeath and Sixmilebridge, peacefully on the April 20, 2026, in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar with her devoted family by her side. Pre-deceased by her husband Brendan, parents Paddy and Anne Hurley and brother Pa Joe. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her heartbroken daughter Mary, son-in-law Dubhán, her cherished and adored grandaughter Molly, sister Sr Margaret (Anna May), her best friend Tommy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Margaret's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace. Margaret will repose in John Healy's Chapel of Rest, Rochfortbridge (N91 R291) on Tuesday, April 21, from 5.30pm until 7pm. Removal on Wednesday to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Rochfortbridge to arrive for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery. No flowers please.

Anne Smyth (nee Corrigan)

Creeve, Mount Temple, Moate, Westmeath, late Lisnagrew, Kilmainhamwood, Kells, Meath, April 18 2026, unexpectedly at home. Predeceased by her husband Sean, parents Peadar and Anna, brothers Patsy (Butch) and Petie, sisters Maura, Philomena and Geraldine. Deeply regretted by her sons John and Peter, daughter in law Claire, Peter’s partner Aisling, grandchildren Éile, Ríona, Sophie, Mollie and Laoise, brothers Larry and Michael, sisters Olive and Orla, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
