Westmeath U20 team named for rearranged quarter-final fixture

Kenny McKinley has announced his team for this evening's rearranged Leinster U20 Football Championship quarter-final between Westmeath and Kildare (Thursday, TEG Cusack Park, 6.15pm).

This evening's match had to be re-fixed after the meeting of the sides was abandoned after 30 minutes last Wednesday. The referee Ian Howley decided that the pitch was no longer playable at that stage, with Kildare leading 0-6 to 0-3 at the time. It is understood that a major factor in the decision to abandon the game was a horrific leg injury suffered by Kildare midfielder TJ Nolan near the end of the opening half.

The winner of the rearranged quarter-final will face Meath in the semi-finals on Wednesday, April 29. This evening's game will, of course, be a precursor to the meeting of Westmeath and Kildare in the Leinster Senior Football Championship semi-final on Sunday, May 3 in Tullamore (2pm).

The U20 quarter-final will be available to watch on TG4 YouTube channel.
