ETNS traffic calming tied to 270-home development

A call to have traffic calming measures put in place close to the Educate Together NS (right) in Mullingar in the interest of public safety was made by Cllr Ken Glynn at the April meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad.

The response from the district stated that it is currently examining a large-scale housing development close to the school.

“As part of the planning process traffic, road and pedestrian safety will be examined,” Cllr Glynn was assured.

Engineer Pat Kavanagh said that since the new housing development is to comprise in excess of 270 houses, there will be “serious traffic calming” in the area.
