Fade to Black
Drenched is the heart
Soaked in love
And good intention.
Spoiled by your beauty
And marked by such meaning.
This love runs deep
This love is for keeping.
Never deny your heart
Of the things it truly needs.
It does not make you weak
Or bring you to your knees.
Hold it.
Cherish it.
Own it.
Before we all…
fade to black
For that was the Winter we listened to Enya
Stay young while you can
Age will find you soon
Walk in the sand at sunset
Drink the finest wine at noon.
Find the one to share it all with
And don’t let go.
In your eyes
I can see the universe flickering
From beginning to the end
All that is true to me - you are
My love, and my friend
A cold tear now fully formed
A convex image of the day
As we trudge through snow
Your hand in mine
You said that everything is “only time”
For that was the Winter
We listened to Enya.
Sail away
Sail away
Sail away.
After
After every low
Comes a high
After every tear
Comes a smile
After the dark
Comes the light
After the sadness
Comes delight
After bad
Comes good
After death
Comes regret
After daylight
Comes the night
Don’t give up now.
Stay, and fight.
Love
Love is more than a feeling.
You feel it, sure.
But it has much more meaning.
Love creates a bond.
That goes far beyond
anything we understand.
Can quantify or demand.
Love comes.
And love goes.
Who’s in charge.
Nobody knows.
Love is a friend in the darkest hour.
And a foe.
With tremendous power.
It can terrorise.
Harmonise.
Demonise.
And cajole.
… without love
What are we now?
