Bellview Clinical Group buy Longford property
Mullingar based medical professionals Dr Neil Healy and Dr Paula Donnelly are set to expand their Bellview Clinical Group with the purchase of a property in Longford town.
Dr Healy and Dr Donnelly established the Bellview Clinical Group, the primary care network, that operates across County Longford and County Westmeath.
News of their latest acquisition came following a special meeting of Longford County Council, where the local authority approved the purchase of a Main Street property that has been in the ownership of the council for a number of years.
The property is a three-storey listed commercial premises, built in 1950. The Providers building is considered an interesting example of post war architecture in Ireland.
The purchase of the council owned building was made by Dr Neil Healy, a GP and managing partner of the Bellview Clinical Group in Mullingar, which he runs with his wife, Dr Paula Donnelly, who is also a GP, as well as a lecturer, and a leading figure in the provision of female healthcare.
The sale was agreed at a meeting of the Longford municipal district two weeks ago with the county council ratifying the decision this week. It is understood that Dr Healy plans to convert the building into a medical facility with consultation rooms and a dedicated research space.
