Application for eight-home Legan development

Westmeath County Council planners have been approached regarding an eight-house development at Legan, Ardnaponra, Westmeath. Midlands Construction and Materials (MCM) made the approach to local authority planners about the project in April.

The applicant is proposing the demolition of an existing house and garage to facilitate the construction of a residential development of eight houses. The plans are for eight three-bedroom, two-storey, semi-detached houses, vehicular and pedestrian entrances, access road and car parking.

The plans also cover public and private open spacers, boundary fences and walls, the proposed connections to the existing foul sewer, all surface water and water main networks and all associated ancillary site development works.

The development address is at Legan, Ardnaponra, Ard Grainne and Killeenboylegan townlands, Dublin Road, Moate.

The application by MCM, of The Grove, Old Galway Road, Baylough, Athlone, was received on April 1, and the planners anticipate they will reach a decision by June 26, 2026.
