Cluain Lir patient presented painting to FTD Brothers
Staff and residents of Cluain Lir Community Nursing Unit, Mullingar, were among those in the town park to welcome the FTD Brothers back at the finish of the Mullingar leg of their 32 marathons.
Stephen Rooney from Ballymore, a nurse at the centre, said they had been following the story of Jordan and Cian Adams: “We decided as a group that we’d like to recognise what they are doing and include the residents in this great cause.”
Stephen said the centre cares for a lot of residents with dementia and one of those was there to present to the brothers a painting of an Irish cottage she had done, working along with Lucy Tormey, resident artist at the centre.
Stephen added: “We’ve also done a fundraising campaign in Cluain Lir, and when we have it all gathered together, we’re going to donate online. It’s a cause that’s close to everyone’s hearts, especially as we have a lot of residents with dementia.”
Ready to spend time with well-wishers and supporters, Jordan and Cian were delighted to accept the gift of Anne’s painting, and made sure to return it to its protective bubble-wrap cover after admiring it.
