Development of 12 new housing units proposed for Rochfortbridge
Westmeath County Council propose a development of 12 new housing units at Castlepark, Castlelost Townland, Rochfortbridge.
The development will consist of: four three-bed, two-storey semi-detached units and eight two-bed, two-storey semi-detached units plus site development works including a wastewater pumping station.
The development will be accessed through the existing Castlepark housing estate.
The proposal has undergone Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening under the EU Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening under the EIA Directive 2014/52/EU.
The council, as the planning authority, have made a preliminary examination of the nature, size and location of the proposed development, and concluded that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development; a determination has been made that an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required.
Anyone can, within four weeks beginning 6 June 2026, apply to An Coimisiún Pleanála for a screening determination on whether the proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
