Play continues at golf club despite overnight vandalism to greens

A number of greens at Mullingar Golf Club have been damaged overnight.

Club management have reported it to An Garda Síochána.

The photographs show some of the damage on some of greens.

In a statement, club management said: "We would appeal to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in or around the golf course last night, or who may have any information that could assist, to please contact An Garda Síochána or the Club in confidence."Course staff have been working to minimise disruption, and management thank them for their efforts.Lady Captain Jackie Mills' Day will go ahead as planned tomorrow."We encourage all members and supporters to come along and support Jackie on what is a very special and important day for her and the club."Thank you to all our members and visitors for your patience, understanding and continued support."
