Rochfortbridge Pitch and Putt Club President’s Prize
Rochfortbridge Pitch and Putt club recently held its annual President’s Prize competition. Long serving president, Bill Swords, was there on the night, greeting all players, both full members and associates. In Bill’s speech, he thanked everybody on the committee, the greenkeepers and all players.
The greenkeepers have been working hard on the course and their efforts are really appreciated. Many thanks to Patricia McCarthy for the tea and cakes on the evening; also to Emma Hogan, Jessie White and Bill for looking after everyone so well. Thanks also to Gerry Coyne and Derek McKevitt for doing up the scores and well done to all the winners.
Prize Winners:
Visitors winners, 1st John Donnelly (Lough Owel) 97; 2nd Stephen Ruanne (Collinstown) 100; 3rd Mickey Cunningham (Kilbeggan) 102. Hole in one winner, Mick Morrissey 6th. Full members, 1st Gerry Coyne 100, 2nd Mick Mangan 102, 18 gross Colm Yeates 51, 18 nett Andrew Coyne 43.
It was great to see such a superb turnout for Bill’s big day. Bill was presented with a token of the club’s appreciation in the form of an engraved slate for all he does, and has done, for the club of Rochfortbridge.
Bill was a founder member in 1972 and also designed the course layout. He has been heavily involved in all aspects of the club down through the years and continues to have a huge input into the club’s proceedings. We look forward to many more years with Bill at our helm.
