Decision made on Hiskinstown Solar Farm

A decision has been made regarding a proposed renewable energy development in Hiskintown, as Pheasant Solar Limited has been granted conditional permission to develop a solar farm.

The development, permitted to go ahead subject to 22 conditions laid out by the planning office, will grant Pheasant Solar Ltd 10-year planning permission and a 40-year operational life.

The operational life is with regards to the solar energy development, which has a total site area of 157 hectares.

The development will consist of photovoltaic solar panels on steel mounting frames, electrical transformer stations, underground electrical and communications cabling within the development site.

The site will cover the areas of Hiskinstown, Ballygillin, Ballynacor, Stonestown, Corbetstown, Higginstown, Sionhill, Hodgestown, Dardistown, Graffanstown, Reynella, Balrath East, Chanonstown and Clonlost in County Westmeath.

Permission was granted on Tuesday July 14.
