ARI AGM

At the recent AGM of Active Retirement Ireland, held in Athlone, two members won first prize in their categories, Mary Daly in creative writing, and Barbara Algar in art. Congratulations and well done ladies.

The Culture Vultures enjoyed a day out at The Boyle Arts Festival.

A Willow weaving day was held on 17 July; Sound bath relaxing on 22 July, and Pickleball continues as before.

The fermentation course finished last Thursday, with a lovely lunch prepared by the participants. It was an enjoyable and informative course. Power of Plants

Enjoy an hour with Gemma Kelly (Meadow Root Herbs). She will present an introduction to western herbal medicine and local plants for everyday wellbeing and the joy of foraging. Candle making

Window box demo

Eamonn from Slanemore Nursery and Garden Centre, one-hour autumn/winter planter and window box demo, at Multyfarnham Community Centre at 11am Thursday 24 September. Plants available to purchase on the day. Text 0871723256 to book a place.

Meeting

Members meeting on 18 August 2-4pm; hopefully as many members as possible will attend to see the presentation of the project on the historic life-sized statues at the Franciscan Friary Multyfarnham, by the committee, led by Eilis and Eddie. The research was grant aided by the Heritage Council An Chomairle Oidhreachta. The event is part of National Heritage Week. All are welcome and thank you to all who contributed to this project.

Pickleball

Pickleball is on as usual on bank holiday Monday 3 August. Due to a summer camp in Multyfarnham Community Centre, there is pickleball on Wednesday and Friday of that week. Back to normal the week of 10 August.
